Burn Boats

During the Spanish Conquest of Mexico (1519) , the term "burn the boats" was adopted when Hernan Cortes the Spanish commander burned his ships so that his men would have to conquer or die. In Norse mythology, the concept took a similar meaning, where turning back was not an option--only moving forward.
This piece was created with the thought of perseverance, much like the wolf who hunts. Resilience is a theme held close to my heart and I wanted to create a scene where you feel empowered to move only forward.
