About Lucie

Hi!

My name is Lucie and I am a self taught artist. I didn't go to a fancy art school to study theory and history of art--I used YouTube, an imagination and a lot of failed projects. I also angered a lot of sensitive people along the way with my pieces--I enjoyed getting feathers ruffled, it meant I am getting people to ask questions. I studied in accounting. With over ten years of work in the field I was continually pulled towards creating. My upbringing in the Czech told me that art is not a job however here I am proving the old ways wrong. 

Art is an outlet for me to bring out emotions that us Europeans tend to stuff down. Ew, emotions right? I love creating pieces that make you question your surroundings and your reality (these are my space/graffiti themes) and I also thrive on creating landscapes that root into your soul and give you a breath of fresh air. 

I dabble in portrait art of animals and anatomy art. I have a deep rooted love for graffiti and mural art--the bigger the better. If you want to see what I am currently working out check out my Instagram @lucienovotny.art where you'll find an up to date archive of my works. 

Art is meant to make you question your surroundings and pull at you in different ways. Just like opinions, art is different for everyone and I hope you enjoy at least one of my pieces. Stay awesome!
